Fearless Friday: taking a deep breath

IMG_7207I am in Lithuania and today is my last day teaching in Nida. It is a beautiful place and I love coming here each year. When I am in the presence of such beauty fear is a distant memory.

Last night I had lots of strange dreams and when I awoke the room was full of what looked like a swarm of small back bugs, millions of them. I just looked at them, took a deep breath and thought, “Well they aren’t bothering me so no harm.” When I really woke up of course they were gone. (more…)

Perfection – is it really all perfect?

lithuania 2010 008 I love the idea that everything is perfect. At first I had a hard time with the concept. How could death, illness, hunger and suffering be perfect? Then I began to explore the idea of my filter system, that my experience of life was really created by my beliefs, agreements, assumptions and attitudes.

When I see life from a limited perspective I miss much of the beauty. What if this really is a prefect world? There are, after all places people can have more than enough and places people can experience lack and limitations. Who am I to say that no one has the right to experience whatever it is they want to experience? (more…)

Active side of infinity

P9168840-th What on earth is the active side of infinity? It sounds rather mysterious and intriguing to me. I remember reading about Don Juan explaining the concept to Castaneda. The way I understood it is basically connecting with this force, the one that creates the universe, Don Juan referred to as infinity.

When I look back at my life I can definitely see times where I connected with something far beyond my limited beliefs and vision of reality. As I look back some events took on almost epic proportions, okay not epic just very curious and the events were certainly beyond my normal, everyday creations.

One event that is a great example of that connection was the first time I went to Egypt. It was shortly after a Middle East war and the runway was flanked by burned out planes. I remember thinking, “I’m not in Kansas any more.” As I walked down the stairs toward the bus awaiting us I noticed lots of armed men and heard a voice, it was the Sphinx welcoming me. Now, I don’t ususally hear voices and I certainly wasn’t thinking of the Sphinx. I was think of safety and asking myself what I was doing here.

Basic Toltec wisdom

You are not your mind or your body. You are a vast energy that is eternal, immortal and infinite. You are the energy that gives life to your body. You are a magician constantly creating your experience of reality.

The primary focus of Toltec wisdom is to help you achieve personal freedom and to master the art of conscious creation. In order to do that you need to clear out your filter system and retrain your mind.

The Toltec tradition is a philosophy or a way of life that allows you to be happy no matter what is happening around you. If you are a Christian or a Buddhist or a Muslim or an atheist for that matter it will help you be a better one. The Toltec tradition will assist you in creating personal freedom.

Don Juan talked to Castaneda about moving his assemblage point or changing that point of creation. We either create our experience and make our choices from our mind or our spirit. When we view life from our mind’s perspective it is limited and often fear based. As we choose to deepen our connection to our spirit we can experience life from a totally limitless perspective.

One of the first exercises I suggest to people when they begin to work with me is to write their own definition of personal freedom. Make your definition deeply personal and emotionally juicy. Make your definition emotionally rich enough to help you move through some of the resistance you may encounter.

Heaven on Earth: a teaching story

The Grandmother and the children sat at the edge of a large stand of tall pine trees. She looked out over the land.

“We are the land’s caretakers and we must always plant more than we use. If you cut a tree you must plant at least two more. The Mother will always provide for us but in thanks for her love we must also care for her just as we care for one another.
