Active side of infinity
What on earth is the active side of infinity? It sounds rather mysterious and intriguing to me. I remember reading about Don Juan explaining the concept to Castaneda. The way I understood it is basically connecting with this force, the one that creates the universe, Don Juan referred to as infinity.
When I look back at my life I can definitely see times where I connected with something far beyond my limited beliefs and vision of reality. As I look back some events took on almost epic proportions, okay not epic just very curious and the events were certainly beyond my normal, everyday creations.
One event that is a great example of that connection was the first time I went to Egypt. It was shortly after a Middle East war and the runway was flanked by burned out planes. I remember thinking, “I’m not in Kansas any more.” As I walked down the stairs toward the bus awaiting us I noticed lots of armed men and heard a voice, it was the Sphinx welcoming me. Now, I don’t ususally hear voices and I certainly wasn’t thinking of the Sphinx. I was think of safety and asking myself what I was doing here.
The next night I was walking with one of my students when a man began following us. My student kept telling me to get rid of him but instead, after having tea and talking for a long time he eventually took myself and several other people to meditate with the Sphinx. It was amazing to say the least. There were many logical reasons not to go with this man but I guess for lack of a better term that active side of infinity urged me on. One night we even went through a riot where people were killed, without incidence and without noticing the riot.
Aligning ourselves with that energy is amazing to say the least but how do we do that? How do we know when we have? That is what I am teaching about this weekend in Lithuania. It is really simply a matter of intent, willingness, discernment, discipline and dedication. It does take practice. I’ll be sharing some exercises in the next few posts that will facilitate that process for you. So if you are interested, stay tuned!
With love and aloha,
Susan
