What made you finally say ENOUGH?

enoughI was talking to my agent the other day about my latest book (more to be revealed about that soon). She asked me what drove people to finally say enough and seek a solution. What would make people want to buy a book about living from joy?

I had a variety of reason: emotional pain, not feeling loved, loss of a loved one or a job or a dream or ….

And then I had a thought. Ask. So I am asking you today.

I’d love to hear your answer because then I could write more clearly about the solutions. I might even make a video, do a guided meditation or write a book all about the solution. Just for you!

So put on your thinking cap, dig deep and post away in the comment section.

Your feedback might just make for a more awesome 2014!!!

What was your enough?

What finally made you start seeking?

What was your pain index before you finally said enough?

Were you moving away from pain or toward a dream or a vision?

What was the pain caused by?

I really really want to know.

With love and excitement about reading your responses,
Susan

And I say thanks in advance!!

Finding peace

Imagine find this sense of peace
with all the issues in your life

A man of peace is not a pacifist; a man of peace is simply a pool of silence.
He pulsates a new kind of energy into the world, he sings a new song.
He lives in a totally new way, his very way of live is that of grace, that of prayer, that of compassion.
Whomsoever he touches, he creates more love-energy.
The man of peace is creative.
He is not against war, because to be against anything is to be at war.
He is not against war, he simply understands why war exists.
And out of that understanding he becomes peaceful.
Only when there are many people who are pools of peace, silence, understanding, will the war disappear.

Your wish is my desire

Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.

Getting in touch with your passion makes a huge difference. Deciding to live that passion is the key living the life of your dreams.

What is your passion?

I had no idea at first. I started by making a list of nurturing things. Initially to create that I had to experiment. I would try something and if I enjoyed it I’d add it to my list.  I found curiosity very useful.

I’d think about doing something nurturing and then I’d mull it over.  I ask myself some questions.

Is that expansive, healthy, or in short good for me?
Will I have fun?
How will I feel afterwards?
Will it add to the quality of my life?

When my first thought was no found I’d have to ask myself if I had ever tried it. Often, after experimenting I would find myself adding it to my list.

I found there were things that just felt good and things that helped me define my passion. The more I explored the better my life became. I actually began to define and follow my passions.

What is your list of nurturing things?

For a number of years I put my list of nurturing things in the back of my journal. That way I always knew where it was and could easily add something new. When I begin working with someone I often suggest they start their own list. They response I often get is, “Why bother?”

A list of nurturing things is a list of things that feed your  soul. Passion, true passion comes from your soul. It is related to the essence of your being.

True desire comes from your soul. Doing one thing that feeds your soul every day will set you free!

Susan

Lost two businesses, my home and then I found myself

BROKEN DOWN HOMEI began my spiritual journey almost 30 years ago when I lived in Vermont. After my mom was killed in a car accident I was devastated. She was my best friend. Shortly after I became a cocaine addict and an alcoholic. I had two successful businesses and a beautiful home on 6 acres of land but they soon dissolved thanks to my addictions. After feeling like a total failure, being emotionally bankrupt, empty and actively suicidal I decided to get clean and sober. At that point my spiritual journey began in earnest.

I was lucky enough to have a series of wonderful mentors. One of my mentors was a crusty old man called Tony. He willingly imparted much of his wisdom to me. He had me do research on the meaning of principles, I read voraciously and he emphasized the importance of feeling a profound connection to my spirit. I had meditated for years so I redoubled my meditation practices and spirituality became the main focus of my life.

I moved to California and through a series of coincidences I met Don Miguel Ruiz and his mother Sister Sarita. Miguel asked me to become one of his student and I studied with him until he told me to go and teach in my own way.

The mentors I met as a result of my spiritual journey totally changed my vision or version of reality. I moved to Hawaii with a belief, a conviction and with $800. I didn’t know a soul and didn’t have a job. Ten years later I bought a wonderful home and three acres of land on the Big Island of Hawaii. I’ve had 9 books of mine published and travel the world helping people create a life beyond their wildest dreams. I do what I love on a daily basis.

WARNING: Bliss is about to attack

iStock_000005490020XSmallAllow yourself to feel bliss attacking you. Imagine being overcome with profound feelings of bliss. Bliss becomes so overwhelming you have no choice but to allow it to fill your heart and your mind.

Fun idea isn’t it? What do you suppose would happen to your life if you walked around with the thought that bliss is haunting you, dogging your every step. No matter what you do you can’t avoid bliss. It slowly and unavoidably becomes your predominate feeling.

Interesting mixture of metaphors. Play with it for a while. See what happens.

Happiness,  joy, abundance and carefree abandon are part of your birthright and are always just a thought away. Play with idea that bliss is stalking you. Imagine that bliss is absolutely unavoidable and watch some of your limiting beliefs fall away.

Change can be as simple as shifting the way you think about something like bliss.

I am currently in Tokyo. I do a lot of private sessions here and always start by asking the person, “How can I help you?” One woman said, “I want to experience enlightenment.”

I told her she already was enlightened and surprise filled her face, then confusion. As we talked her definitions and desires slowly changed. She began to allow herself to feel joy and ease. Suddenly the light came on and she said, “I could use this (changing her definitions and beliefs) to change anything in my life!” I agreed full heartedly. She had really seen the light, she was indeed enlightened (filled with light).

Be prepared to let bliss attack and see what happens.

With love, aloha and bliss following me,
Susan

Conscious creation: the illusion of control, is it fear or love?

Are you using your filter system or aligning with your spiritual essence

Egiptas2008 583We are the creators of our life experience. We either create that experience from our filter system and fear or our spirit and love. Where we focus our attention makes a huge difference.

You are a limitless being. Your thoughts are not real and are usually assumptions about reality that have no basis in fact. So often I watch people embrace the idea that they can create what they want when they want it. They are overjoyed because it is reassuring to think we are in control of our reality. If we are in control then we are safe.

That desire for control is fear based.  When you are aligned with your spiritual essence you know you are safe no matter what and there is no need for control. You can easily surrender to what is and savor the moment. (more…)

When you hear the voice of the judge use it to set yourself free

judgment

That inner voice

Our inner dialog isn’t really the problem. The problem is we listen to that dialog, think it is our true nature and then we believe what we are telling ourselves. We forget that all of our perceptions about reality are based on an illusion. Until we change our perspective generally our assumptions about reality are based on the belief that we are separate and limited. We experience life as if we are our body and our thoughts are real. The world is a vast energy system and we forget that as soon as we start describing it, as soon as we start thinking we have broken our connection with who and what we really are.

You are a limitless, infinite, eternal energy presently inhabiting a body. The voice of your inner critic is an indication you have aligned yourself with your mind and not your spirit.  Many years ago I was told that I couldn’t think myself into shifting my awareness but I could take actions that would help me experience and in the process remember who and what I really was. The miraculous nature of life….

water drop leafThis morning I was doing some stretches in my hot tub. It is located under a tin roof and it was raining very hard. The gutters were gurgling with water destined for my water tank. I use rain water for all my water needs.

Suddenly I began to think of rain and what a miracle it is, water falling from the sky. Sometimes clouds are fluffy and white, at other time they share their water with the earth. This morning they were gray and dark yet I knew that the sun was shinning just on the other side of them. Rain gives life to the earth and many people are in need of that life giving water. (more…)
