Love Expands

sand and handsWhat do you love the most about your life?

I love writing a gratitude list. I love making a list of the things, large and small about my life and being grateful for all of them.

That wasn’t always the case. I used to think in terms of what I wanted. If I just had this then I would be happy. In hindsight, I realize that I always moved the goal post just before I got there. Since my happiness was external it was fleeting.  Once I redefined my sense of happiness I began to realize that happiness was always only a thought away.

Today what I love most about my life is my ability to change my thinking so I can be happy no matter what is going on.

How do you define your happiness?

Is your happiness dependent on external things?

Would you be happier if:

You had  relationship?
More money?
A job you loved?
More time?
A larger home?
More friends?
Were thinner or taller or younger or older?
Healthier?

If you answered yes to any of those questions you are limiting yourself and curtailing your happiness. Happiness is an inside job. It is totally dependent on what you are telling yourself and independent of the events in your life or the world around you.

Are you willing to be happy no matter what?

When I ask that  most people respond, “Of course.” But are you willing to change your beliefs, agreements, assumptions and attitude? Are you willing to see all happiness or lack of happiness as a result of your filter system?

We never see life directly, we are always seeing our filter system. Are you willing to let of that old limiting version of reality? Are you ready to see life through the eyes of love?

Only the love is real everything else is an illusion.

With love and aloha,
Susan
