I am now going to have a hip teplacment after finding there breast cancer cells. At times like this i would expect my children to wrap me with love only they have their own agenda. I am 62 divqorced and need to do all by myself so yes need support now

I had two knees replaced this year and I am so grateful I did. I bet the hospital has support groups and there are a number of support groups for cancer awareness. Sorry your family isn’t there for you but reach out and find support in your community.
Thank you again, Susan, for sharing this wisdom. Another way I have of creating balance is to connect with nature in some way every day–watch the clouds, smell a flower, listen to the rain, repot a plant–it can be anything as simple as that. And another is stretching!! I love to stretch or do some yoga poses every day. And a third way is being with my cat! For those of us fortunate enough to have a pet, they can be extremely therapeutic!

Starting my day out in a sacred way has helped me immensely. My practice is called “Morning Pages,” three pages written long-hand, stream-of-consciousness first thing in the morning. This comes from The Artists’ Way by Julia Cameron, and I am currently on volume 47 of an on-going series.

A support system could be friends, family, a church or any number of support groups like AA.
