What’s the key to a life filled with happiness, joy and love?
First and foremost happiness is dictated by the choices we make. I often ask people if they want to be right or happy?
It is amazing how often people choose being right without realizing that means happiness will be illusive at best. The next question people ask me is, “Why can’t I be both?” The short answer is you generally can’t. The need to be right is fear based while happiness comes from love.
Surrender
Living passionately is really about letting go of our limiting thinking and diving into life, hands held high and laughter filling the air. When we let go there is a sense of ease and magic flows freely.
I was asked how to learn to surrender. There is no learning involved, the idea of learning engages our mind (where all our limiting beliefs live). Surrender is just letting go and trusting the process. There is no longer a need to be right, just the freedom to allow joy and happiness into our life.
How do you define passion?
Funny, I looked up the definition for passion and found conflicting definitions. One dictionary defined it as strong and barely controllable emotion or the suffering and death of Jesus. While another dictionary defined it as a strong liking or desire for some activity, object, or concept or an object of desire or deep interest.
So how do you define it for yourself? Is it something you want to move toward and have more of? Or does it include suffering? (You want it but don’t have it)
When I think of a passionate life I think of one filled with happiness, love, joy and satisfaction. Being fully and completely alive, awake and aware of all that is possible, not the narrow version created by my mind.
For some reason this post reminds me of John Lennon’s song, “Imagine”
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one.
Wouldn’t that be awesome. When you live your life with passion and joy you invite amazing things into your life.
