Aloha,

I am having a retreat this week. It has been a wonderful experience with lots of laughter, hugs and tears. One of the women was here a few years ago. At that time I had just cleared an acre and we went for a walk in the area. I told the group I was going to create a labyrinth there. The land was rough and hilly covered with the remnants of stumps and brush. The look of amazement and pleasure when she walked the labyrinth was very gratifying.

Yesterday we had a discussion about intent. We can easily say it is our intent to create abundance, joy, happiness and love but if we don’t make choices and take actions it won’t happen. If I hadn’t cleared the land and taken the time to create the labyrinth it wouldn’t be there.

Over the years I have worked with thousands of people. The people willing to take the actions, actually practice the practices and do the exercises changed their lives. There are many more people who stay for a while and then like a butterfly in search of nectar are off to the next class, teacher or book.

When I was a student I watched so many people come and go, searching for the answer. I think we are a society looking for the McDonalds of enlightenment. I am sure if someone invented a drive through window for happiness and enlightenment there would be a long line on opening day.

It matters little which spiritual practice we embrace as long as we actively practice the principles in all of our areas of our life. The one thing I am absolutely sure of is that if you make a commitment to love yourself unconditional and take steps to do that everyday your life will transform.

Taking actions, on a daily basis that are consistent with what you want to create makes all the difference in the world.

With love, a smile and taking action everyday,
Susan
