love yourselfWhen I first moved to Hawaii I decided I wanted to learn to body board. A woman worked with me on the tame side of the island and I thought I got very good at it. I decided I wanted to try more challenging waves on the other side of the island so off we went.

When we got to the beach the waves were huge. My friend said, “I wouldn’t go in the water with those waves.”  I went anyway.

I fought a long time to get out beyond the waves when suddenly I found myself kneeling on the sand with a HUGE wave coming at me. Foolishly I held my board up in front of me and the wave grabbed me. I was sure the last thing I would ever see in this lifetime was white water, sand and rough, raging waves.

Eventually I crawled out of the water up onto the sand, gasping for air. My friend smiled and said, “I told you so.”

That experience created a huge ripple in my life. I continued to body board I just used better judgement in assessing the waves.

What do you enjoy most in life? Before my getting dunked by the ocean I loved taking a leap into scary, ego driven choices. After that brush with death I more fully embraced loving, joyful, expansive choices.

Bye Bye 2020 – hello what?

2020 has been challenging  for meat times as it has for many others. I believe those challenges were an opportunity to energized love.

2020. How is this year been for you? Do you think it was a horrible year? Or was it a wonderful year full of many, many cosmic gifts? Or a mixture of both?

With each thought we have, we create ripples in time and affect the time space continuum. Your thoughts really do come screaming back into  your life as reflections in the form of people, places and things.

Everything in our lives is there by invitation, either consciously or unconsciously.  Many of our invitations are based on what I call our filter system, our beliefs, agreements and assumptions. Moment by moment we get to choose love or fear, events based on old beliefs or what we really want to experience next.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of  the light.

So in broad strokes what do you want to create more of in your life?

Do you want to hold onto your old limiting beliefs and create more of the same old same old?

Or are you willing to dive head first into a limitless universe created by letting go of what you believed and base your choices on love instead?

With love and aloha,
Susan
